What are the 4 health related fitness components discussed and assessed in class?

Defines health-related components of fitness (cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility and body composition). Remember the four components of the FITT principle. Cardiovascular endurance is the ability of the heart and lungs to work together to provide the body with the necessary oxygen and fuel during sustained workloads. Some examples would be running, cycling and swimming.

Cooper Run is most commonly used to assess cardiovascular endurance. Muscle strength is the amount of force that a muscle can produce. Examples would be the bench press, the leg press, or the bicep curl. The push-up test is most commonly used to assess muscle strength.

Muscle endurance is the ability of muscles to function continuously without fatigue. Examples would be cycling machines, stepper machines and elliptical machines. The abdominal test is most commonly used to assess muscle endurance. Flexibility is the ability of each joint to move through the range of motion available for a specific joint.

Examples would be stretching individual muscles or the ability to perform certain functional movements, such as lunge. The sit and reach test is most often used to assess flexibility. Body composition is the amount of fat mass compared to lean muscle mass, bones and organs. This can be measured by underwater weighing, skinfold readings, and bioelectrical impedance.

Underwater weighing is considered the “gold standard” for measuring body fat, however, due to the size and expense of the necessary equipment, very few locations are configured to perform this type of measurement. Flexibility is one of the most important, yet often overlooked, components of fitness. Without flexibility, muscles and joints would stiffen and movement would be limited. Flexibility training ensures that the body can move through its full range of motion without pain or stiffness.

To test your flexibility, lean forward and try to touch your toes. People with good flexibility will generally be able to touch their toes, while people with limited flexibility will not. The sit and stretch test (sitting on the floor and stretching toward your toes) is another good way to assess your flexibility. The more flexible you are, the closer you are to touching your toes and beyond.

Body fat composition refers to the amount of fat in the body. For example, a 100-pound person with a 25% body fat composition will have a lean body mass of 75 pounds. The average man tends to have around 18 to 24 percent body fat, while the average woman has 25 to 31 percent body fat. Kenosha Community Health Center, Admin Bldg 4006 Washington Rd.

We, the Kenosha Community Health Center, are a nonprofit organization that provides underserved citizens of Kenosha County with comprehensive health care that empowers our patients to maintain their well-being by addressing health disparities and providing access for all. Once a person has achieved all of their health-related fitness goals, it is good to expand into areas of interest with skills-related physical training. Your body composition can be controlled by many different factors, but the 3 main factors that I always highlight for my students are good sleep, staying active, and eating healthy foods such as vegetables and fruits.

If a person is concerned about their health-related physical condition, they should start by having a physical examination from their doctor. Schools participating in the Project are encouraged to conduct physical fitness tests for students on a regular basis. If someone prefers to exercise individually rather than with a group, the first step should be to assess their current physical condition. Working on each component of fitness can improve your health by preventing many diseases and illnesses; preventing injuries and falls; improving outcomes as you age; reducing stress, anxiety and depression; and improving quality of life.

The extent to which you choose to focus on muscle endurance should be directly related to your health or fitness goals. If you want to become an endurance athlete capable of competing in sports that require continuous muscle contraction, such as obstacle courses, CrossFit or cycling, you'll need a higher level of muscle endurance. The five components of fitness are factors that contribute to fitness and help guide the process of getting fit. Fitness data is collected from participating students to help understand their current body conditions.

Cardiovascular exercise, which is anything that increases the heart rate, will help prevent cardiovascular disease along with other benefits. Make a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation that details the five sections of health-related physical fitness. A person with a high level of physical fitness can complete daily activities with as little effort as possible and still have enough energy to respond to emergencies. Immediate benefits include improved thinking and cognition, reducing anxiety, reducing depression, and sleeping better. While a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work for any type of training, for skills-related fitness, it's even more personalized. . .
